This year, the Business Lunch once again proved to be an inspiring forum for high-ranking company leaders. In his presentation, Arnd Franz, CEO of the renowned automotive supplier MAHLE based in Stuttgart, impressively demonstrated how the mobility of the future can be shaped sustainably.
In a passionate speech, Franz described how an open-technology approach is necessary in order to become globally independent of fossil fuels and at the same time survive global competition. Even if the future of the car is more likely to be electric, he believes that climate targets cannot be achieved without combustion technology. Synthetic fuels are needed here, and work is urgently needed on their further development. "We need diversity instead of bans! Other regions have recognized this and are relying on a mix of different technologies and not waiting for Europe," said Franz.
MAHLE has taken up this challenge with great success: With the MAHLE 2030+ group strategy, MAHLE is focusing on various viable paths such as innovations in the areas of electrification, thermal management and combustion engines powered by sustainable fuels. Openness to technology and innovation have successfully driven MAHLE forward in recent years, and Franz recommends that company leaders follow the same path. According to his credo, "the focus must always be on people, because they are the essential core of success". Only with these ingredients can MAHLE's motto "We Shape Future Mobility" be successfully implemented.
A special concern of the event was the support of the TRANSEARCH Children's Aid Foundation.
